I'm a student at Breda University of Applied Sciences studying Creative Media and Game Technologies in the Netherlands, with a dedication to Level Design in the third year.

I was born and raised in the Netherlands and already tried making my own game in Game Maker when I was 5.

Looking for a Level Design internship in 2024

Projects

Atan is an action-adventure game where you traverse a massive colossus. Use your climbing skills together with your bow and anchors to journey over the massive giant.

But beware, because this rough terrain contains many challenges, for the colossus itself is still alive and in need of your help.

This project is currently a work in progress, but can already be downloaded on steam. It got into early access at 04/09/2024 and is planned to release mid June!

Pango is a third-person skill-based platformer where I worked as a Level Designer on 3 of the levels in the game. The levels I worked on focused on onboarding the player to the game mechanics and testing their skills with it.

The game has been nominated for the Dutch Game Tastings 2023 which was Game Taste’s first ever award show with community voting that is open to the public.

Project responsibilities:

Unreal Engine 5.1

12 Weeks

A custom Quake level made only using the TrenchBroom engine. All the basic Quake movement, enemies, and weapons from the original game are present.

All the models are made in the Trench Broom modelling editor using architectural references. Texturing is also all done inside Trench Broom.

The focus for this project was making fun gameplay beats using feedback from playtests, and seeing how we adapt when using a different engine than Unreal Engine.

This project is a first person horror game with non-euclidean Level Design.

This self study project was meant for me to get more experienced with working with modular pieces and already existing assets. The project exists out of a full working horror game with realistic looking assets.

The game currently is work in progress, but already has scripted events, puzzles, and jumpscares with much more to come.

More Design work

This is a more tech heavy project where I made a grid based inventory system in Unreal Engine 5. I got inspired by Resident Evil 4's inventory and decided to make that a modular feature inside Unreal. Doing this project taught me a lot of UMG I still use in other projects.

Grid Based Inventory

This was a self study project right when Unreal Engine 5.0 came out with the new cube grid feature. I wanted to test out and see how that new feature worked. I did that by making a modular Japanese house only using the new cube grid modeling tool which turned out nicely.

Other Game Projects

A momentum based platformer. Jump and Slide on both the floors and walls to gather speed, and make your way through the obstacles in a world filled with jump challenges, moving platforms, breakable environments and disgusting ladders.

F### Ladders

You’re the last soul to have your own mind. Wake from your ancient, decrepit tomb and use the power of your soul to outsmart and take control of enemy robots to escape from the depths in this action-packed top-down shooter.
